Los Angeles/Canadian-Media: Kat Kramer created a silent auction as a fundraising component of the 2021 Los Angeles Women’s Theatre Festival(LAWTF), “SOUND & VISION-28” which celebrates female voices, and women of impact. The overall theme of the Festival this year is AND STILL WE RISE!

Established on March 8, “SOUND & VISION-28” will launch online on March 20, to celebrate Women’s History Month and the 28th Anniversary of the Los Angeles Women’s Theatre Festival (LAWTF). Please visit the website for information: www.lawtf.org

It will be on display throughout the festival. 28 items to celebrate 28 years of solo performers from around the world, and the art of the one-person show. Some of the famous women donating items and memorabilia include former LAWTF Honorees, the Legendary Lily Tomlin, Jenifer Lewis, Lainie Kazan, and the late Diahann Carroll, who will receive the 2021 posthumous Infinity Award.

Ms. Kramer has curated many of the items, including a diverse array of memorabilia from Lily Tomlin, plus a rare signed “YOU ARE SEEN” tee-shirt from Legendary songwriter Diane Warren, complete with accompanying mask and sheet music, scripts from the Stanley Kramer Centennial Collection, her own films and CD’s, a copy of the children’s book “It Takes A Village” signed by Hillary Rodham Clinton, a rare CD of the one-woman show “Letting Go Of God” signed by the writer/performer Julia Sweeney of Saturday Night Live fame, a hardcover copy of Paula Poundstone’s autobiography “The Totally Unscientific Study Of The Search For Human Happiness” signed by Poundstone, multiple CD’s signed by actress/singer Lainie Kazan, and a hardcopy of Jenifer Lewis autobiography “The Mother Of Black Hollywood” signed by Ms. Lewis, with some rare posters.

Ms. Kramer honored acclaimed actress/singer Cynthia Erivo and the “women of “Harriet” the Focus Features award-winning film with the 2020 Stanley Kramer “Social Justice” award from the African American Film Critic’s Association (AAFCA.) Kat has donated a CD of the “Harriet” soundtrack including Ms. Erivo’s Oscar-nominated original song “Stand Up.” The film “Harriet” is a historical Biopic about legendary American abolitionist and political activist, Harriet Tubman features a memorable score by Terrence Blanchard. Besides being a “conductor” on the underground railroad, and leading hundreds of slaves to freedom, Tubman was active in the Women’s Suffrage Movement. A little-known fact, Harriet toured the United States in her later years, sharing stories about her bravery. You could say she performed a one-woman show and made a great impact with her storytelling.

Kat also secured a signed photograph from a popular solo performer and stand-up comic Selene Luna. Selene has been the opening act for Margaret Cho and was the voice of Tia Rosita in the Academy Award-winning animated film COCO. Ms. Luna advocates for disability rights. Clearly, Kat, a performer of “Sound and Vision” plans to launch her own full solo journey for LAWTF and other Solo performance organizations.

Among the exciting items are a CD package and dress from Paulina Rendon, a dynamic singer/songwriter, Latin Grammy winner, and 4 times Latin Grammy-nominated singer. Paulina wore this dress to the Grammy’s, making it a desirable item from an empowered woman.

Kat’s dream is to launch her new show with LAWTF, and perform it for The Hollywood Fringe Festival, The Whitefire Theatre’s SoloFest, and of course “The Kate” in Old Saybrook, Connecticut, which is the performing arts venue named in honor of her Godmother, “Auntie Kate” herself, Katharine Hepburn.
